This year the BAM was developed in a hybrid format: online activities from July 11 to 13 and face-to-face meetings from July 14 to 16.
It was my first year attending BAM and the seventh year for our company ATmedios. I was able to experience hybrid events for the first time, a secondary effect that the pandemic leaves us. I find quite curious the emotions that we can experience during this process, the shock and even the initial shyness when booking an appointment with someone unknown or with someone with whom we may have worked sometimes, or someone who referred us during a conversation and who already might be interested in our solutions or vice versa. Then the familiarity with which we can greet someone we did not know in person and a screen gave us that confidence, that closeness.
The BAM gave me scenarios to learn a little more about the audiovisual world and its members, likewise passing from a virtual contact to a physical one in its different spaces. I attended the space called "Pitch of the books?" Meeting with Ibero-American publishers listening to the Pitch of fiction and non-fiction books, as its title says, listening to stories from our country, our streets, and different characters that make us think of the phrase "reality has surpassed fiction" expressing their interest in bringing each of these stories to the visual screen and the interest of different members of the room, about the history, the rights and the great possibility of creating an audiovisual project in the future.
This experience filled me with a lot of learning and a lot of curiosity to learn about what else is behind the productions and projects and also allowed me to understand the importance of what we do at ATmedios: making all this content accessible.
The BAM also gave me the space to learn about the trajectory of content creation, both long and short films, and allowed me to get to know the brush of each work and a sample of it.
Each of the spaces allowed me to communicate our doubts and interests and, on the other hand, the contribution I can give to the audiovisual world. In the same way, to identify the changes, the different sectors, and the current situation, in an environment peaceful and trustworthy, with the idea and purpose of continuing to provide our services, our human talent and our ability to reach any part of the world so that the content reaches all kinds of audiences.
Thank you for giving us a space to get to know each other during BAM. We are sure that together we will continue to build more opportunities to strengthen the audiovisual sector.
